Dover Trunk, based in Dover, MA USA is a collaboration of interior designers, restoration experts, master painters and equestrian enthusiasts who have joined forces to collect and exquisitely restore Victorian era travel trunks for display in fine homes, castles, yachts, and exclusive retail establishments and for practical use and show in the equestrian world.
Most of the trunks sought out by Dover Trunk are rare and unique examples from the mid to late 1800's that were manufactured by special individual craftsman of the time, as opposed to mass market manufacturers. Each trunk is painstakingly stripped, repaired and the fine wood finished with numerous coats of high grade varnish. Modern Masters paint is often used on the hardware, this paint known for its brilliance and durability. The result is high quality restoration of a 100+ year old antique with exceptional visual impact.
Dover Trunk on occasion does offer customized design and restoration services for our domestic and international clientele.
